Am I the only person in the world who struggles to buy shoes online? I sometimes think that I must be! Other people appear to be able to buy new footwear online with the minimum of fuss, while I struggle to pick up bargains.

That’s not to say that I’ve never got a good price on a pair of shoes online, but I do often find it difficult to find footwear that is both inexpensive and comfortable.

Friends tell me that they have no such troubles – they’re forever showing me their latest purchases, all of which have apparently been purchased for far less than the often quoted Recommended Retail Price (RRP).

So why is it that I can’t seem to match them when it comes to bargain hunting? Maybe my feet are unusual!

The first problem that I often have is actually finding shoes that are cheaper online than they are on the high street. I often spot a pair that look to be a good price but they rarely turn out to be once the cost of the dreaded postage and packing is added on.

It is much easier to shop online than to make a trip to a traditional store, but the service on offer in a bricks and mortar store is likely to be of a higher quality.

The other issue that I struggle with is the fact that I like to try on a pair of shoes before I buy. I like to see if they’re comfortable before committing myself to a purchase.

This seems to be a real problem when it comes to buying footwear online.

So what’s the solution?

I’ve settled on buying most of my shoes from a single online store. Since I’ve grown to trust them, I feel happier about the quality and comfort of their shoes.

Dark brown pants can be coordinated with camel brown shoes. It is not a problem. However, for it to be well-coordinated, I would not choose to wear it with a black shirt. It just doesn’t match well between black and brown especially because the colors are too dark for each other and the colors do not blend with each other. Some better color choices I would recommend dress shirts (whether single colored or patterned) to be either white, yellow, lighter shades of brown, or light shades of orange for a good color match. These colors should be your main background colors if you are considering patterned dress shirts. Remember to wear a brown color belt when wearing brown colored shoes. If possible, keep the brown tone of your belt similar to your shoes. Therefore, your belt should be light brown color to match the camel brown shoes.

As for your second question, you can wear both the black shoe or brown shoe against your light brown pants and white shirt. If you choose the brown shoes, then it would go very well with darker brown shoes since it matches two brown tones against each other. Do you wonder whether or not your horse should be hot shod or perhaps what if any are the benefits or advantages of hot shoeing and maybe even if it’s necessary at all?

Hot shoeing is the application of heat to the shoe then pressing the hot shoe onto the hoof wall of the horse. Like many things related to horseshoeing hot shoeing is a controversial subject. A usual question about hot shoeing is “Does that hurt the horse”?

Hot shoeing does not hurt the horse in usual circumstances. There are occasions where it the hoof has been trimmed quite short then the hot shoe is applied the heat transfers into the sensitive tissue of the foot and the horse can feel the heat. Sometimes the horse will not want to put his foot down as it’s too hot; however this is a very temporary condition and rarely ever has hot shoeing caused lameness.

Is there then any real benefit to the horse to be hot shod; well the answer is “Not really”. Some people think the big benefit of hot shoeing is that the shoe fits the foot better. It’s really a question of how much better and is it really necessary.

When the hot shoe is pressed onto the hoof wall the shoe burns itself a spot that conforms to the hoof wall. The controversy is “Does that make any difference”. It’s a questionable difference. The argument is that the shoe “Fits” better. The argument is that even if the shoe is hot fit to the foot when a horse is walking and the foot is breaking over there is still separation of the shoe from the foot (even a hot fit shoe).

Horses that are not hot shod can have shoes that fit very tightly just as well. And being cold shod the shoe will still separate from the hoof wall while the horse walks and runs just as a hot fit shoe will. There doesn’t seem to be any evidence that a horse that was cold shod has ever caused lameness of any kind from being cold shod.

You have just bought you new pair of figure skating boots and they are hurting a lot. Beside hurting a lot, one foot hurts more than the other. The first time you’ve used them, you’ve developed some major blisters. Five days later when you went back to the rink, apparently, it seems that more blisters are coming your way. You are wondering if this is normal. If this, is normal for breaking into new figure skates? And if so, how long does it take until the skates are broken into?

It takes about ten or so sessions for the skates to break in completely depending on the individual and the boots. It is totally normal. It happens to everyone. This time around though, I did not get blisters breaking in my boots, I have custom-made boots( Thank you Klingbeil). They are kinder to your feet. If you have to get stock boots, you can use a make up sponge around the part of the foot that feels uncomfortable. There are some popular brands that are adhesive, they cost a little more and are not reusable. The make up sponge creates the same effect. They are flat and round. Boys and girls can use them equally. We’re talking about comfort here. This not the time to worry about what your “macho, insecure pals” will think of you. Cut a small hole in the middle of the sponge and put and put it around the blister it helps.

Depending on the skates, It is VERY normal to get blisters when breaking in some new skates! Don’t worry! If you’re having problems around the ankle area, you can take your boots to a skate shop and ask them if they could “punch out” the ankles for you. They have a metal tool that they can use to squeeze and stretch the leather, creating additional room for your ankles. It’ll take a little while before your skates feel comfortable. When you’re starting with them, try not lacing them all the way up. If you’re having problems with your ankle, leave the top eyelet unlaced until you feel more comfortable. Also try leaving the top hook undone until you feel more flexibility in your boots. Put on your skate guards and wear your skates around the house in order to help you with the break in process.
